Thank you for visiting my food blog!
I am here to share my love of all things yummy.
I try to travel whenever I can, so stay tuned even if I haven’t covered anything from your country yet.

Why do I love food?
Because only those things we call “food” live out the most glorious instant of their short term lives at their demise – as the purpose of their being is to nourish, to please the palate upon being consumed. I like indulging myself in these ephemeral pleasures because they align most comfortably with how I see life itself; there is no sense of deceptive, self-consolidatory pretense that anything actually matters.
Hi Roni – Great pictures! I also enjoyed your detailed post on Takazawa. Do you mind if I ask which menu you ordered and if you chose to get the upgraded ingredient option? Thanks!
Hi Mark – Thank you for your message!
Here I have ordered the 11 course, 30000 yen menu, which is the one with upgraded ingredients.
I presume you have been to Takazawa or have done some research since you know about the different options.
But just in case (for anyone else who might find this comment by chance),
there is also the option of getting 7 upgraded dishes for 20000 yen and 9 upgraded dishes for 24000.
The non-upgraded menu is 20000 yen for 9 dishes and 24000 for 11 dishes.
11 courses was actually a bit too much for me so I have ordered 9 courses for my next visit! 🙂
Thanks for the info. I have a reservation coming up in 2 weeks and need to inform the restaurant of my menu choice. I’ll most likely go with the 9 courses because 11 seems like too much. Debating on whether or not I should upgrade. I don’t want to miss out on the assorted seafood, foie, and duck course.
Hi, Roni,
I came across your blog and was really impressed! We’ve recently launched a Trippy Ambassador program and I think you’d be a great fit. Would you be interested in hearing more?
Thanks so much!

Hey Ronnie,
Have you been to any sushi place you really liked?
I’ve been to quite a few like Harutaka, Yoshitake to name a few.
It’s just I need to pick 1 for my upcoming trip, and I don’t think I can get Saito 😦
George
hey george! add me on FB (i’m frds with Eileen) and we can talk there !
I love your philosophical musings about food. I don’t believe there is any inherent meaning to reality. Meaning is only ascribed to both the tangibles and intangibles by humans. While this can create a sense of purpose to our lives, it can also create a lot of socioeconomic problems (e.g., the belief that one religion is correct while others are not).
